For the first time in history, athletes from Serbia took the main places in the NBA – the strongest American league, and Euro League – the strongest European league, thanks to this great man. In 2021 Nikola Jokic and Vasilije Micic won MVP awards in respective competitions.
During his time with basketball club Mega, witnessed eleven of his Mega players receive NBA draft selection (Nikola Jokić, Vasilije Micić, Nemanja Dangubić, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, Ivica Zubac, Rade Zagorac, Vlatko Čančar, Ognjen Jaramaz, Alpha Kaba, Goga Bitadze, and Marko Simonović).
Dejan Milojevic is one of the most talented European basketball experts. He is a Serbian professional basketball coach, assistant coach of the Serbian national team, as well as one of the few coaches from Europe who works in an NBA club. He is famous in the world for working with young players.
One of his greatest achievements is that he created two of the best players from Europe – Nikola Jokic and Vasilije Micic. Apart from his love for sports and basketball, Dejan has a great interest in social sciences.
An interesting fact is that our mentor and speaker get up every day at 6 am to read literature in the field of economics, stock market investing, and global movement. This versatile man, in addition to the great career that he has gained in the last 23 years, enjoys sharing his knowledge and motivating others through panels of teaching and public speaking. Years of experience and exchange of knowledge with people from all over the world have made him a top expert in the field of team leadership, talent development, crisis communication, employee engagement, leadership, positive psychology, professional development, and of course sports coaching.
This great mentor and speaker, has had numerous successes during his coaching career. Milojevic was a member of the junior national team of Yugoslavia, together with Igor Rakocevic and Marko Jaric, who in 1998 won a gold medal at the European Championships in Trapani, Italy. He was also a member of the senior national team of Yugoslavia, which won a gold medal at the 2001 FIBA European Championships.
Later, he was a member of the national team of Serbia and Montenegro, which took 9th place at EuroBasket 2005 in his country. He played for the domestic league teams FMP, Buducnost, and Partizan, as well as for Pamesa Valencia in Spain and Galatasaray in Turkey. Three times in a row, he has been named the award for the most useful player in the Adriatic League. Milojevic played for the national teams of Serbia and Montenegro, winning a gold medal at the 2001 Euro-basket. Three years after ending his playing career in 2009, Milojevic became the head coach of the Adriatic Basketball Association’s (ABA) Mega Basketball, and now he is a coach in the NBA club.
